Producers are particularly interested in seeing Asian American performers and strongly encouraged those performers to attend.

Breakdown
Ichiro Yamada:
(20, Male, Japanese-American) - A no-no boy (one who refused to sign an oath of allegiance to the US in WWII) who struggles with his adjustment within the community after release from federal prison.
Ma:
(50s, Female, Japanese Issei) - Ichiro’s mom who is loyal to Japan and refuses to believe that they lost the war.
Pa:
(50s-60s, Male, Japanese Issei) - Ichiro’s loving father who struggles to keep his family grounded amid opposing viewpoints between his two sons and his wife’s denials.
Kenji Kanno:
(20s, Male, Nisei) - Ichiro’s friend. A former football and track star, Kenji lost his leg in the war.
Freddie Akimoto:
(20s, Male, Nisei) - Ichiro’s friend and fellow no-no boy. Lives the easy life and doesn’t worry about his past or what the future holds.
Eto:
(20s, Male, Nisei) - Was in the army before his medical discharge. Super patriot – disgusted with Ichiro’s “no-no boy” status. ( may double as Jun)
Emi:
(20s, Female, Nisei) - Friend and neighbor of Kenji. She bonds with Ichiro as he reminds her of her husband who joined the war. doubles as Woman from 2A
Woman from 2A: (20s-30s, Female,) – Neighbor of Freddie’s who keeps him company.
Taro:
(18, Male, Nisei) - Ichiro’s younger brother. Taro plans on joining the army after he graduates from high school.
Jun:
(20s, Male, Nisei) - A young man who was friends with the Kumasakas’ son while in the army.
Kumasaka-San:
(40s-50s, Male, Issei) - Friend of the Yamadas, who lost his son in the war.
Mrs. Kumasaka:
(Female, Issei) – Kumasaka-San’s wife who is devastated about the loss of her son (non-speaking role doubles w. Mrs Kanno)
Mrs. Kanno:
(40s-50s, Female, Issei) – Kenji’s mother who worries about her son’s condition.
