SEEKING
Equity actors for Key roles in the 2019 season of Shakespeare On The Green: ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL and HAMLET. See breakdown. Seeking a diverse and versatile company.
Actors will perform roles in both productions in repertory. ALL'S WELL will be an all-female production and a 50/50 split of males and females is sought for HAMLET. Some female actors will perform roles traditionally written for male actors.
Also seeking a PR Stage Manager for Shakespeare On The Green, who will oversee all SM operations and directly SM All's Well. (Personnel with authority to hire SMs will not be in attendance. See separate casting notice on Casting Call for info on submissions)
PREPARATION
Please prepare a brief audition consisting of two contrasting Shakespearean monologues: one comedy and one tragedy. Total audition time not to exceed 2 minutes. Please bring two copies of headshot and resume.

Artistic Director and Director for AWW, Sarah Brown, and Director for HAM., John Hardy, will be in attendance with casting authority. Both plays are written by William Shakespeare and Produced by Nebraska Shakespeare.

Male (portrayed by a female). 50’s-70’s. Any ethnicity. The body is failing. The mind is sharp. Authoritative and stolid, but with a soft heart for those that are worthy.
Bertram
Male (portrayed by a female). 20’s to 30’s. Any ethnicity. Count of Roussillon. Young in thoughts and experience. Well-liked. Self-focused. Passionate and stubborn.
Countess Roussillon
Female. 40’s-60’s. Any ethnicity. Mother of Bertram. Noble and dignified. Knows court well and plays the game. Capable of unwavering love, but struggles with forgiveness.
Lafeu
Female. 40’s- 50’s. Any ethnicity. Aware and proud of status. Very comfortable with authority, looking for advancement. Wise and discerning.
Lavatch

Gertrude
Female. 40’s-50’s. Any ethnicity. Unknowingly marries her husband’s murderer. She is reaching for something but does not know what it is.
Laertes
Male or Female. Late 20’s-30’s. Any ethnicity. A nurturing sibling to Ophelia and loyal child to Polonius. After losing both father and sister, Laertes seeks revenge. Athletic; willing and able to fight. Trained stage combatant or able dancer/athlete who is willing to learn.
Ophelia
Female. 20’s-Early 30’s. Any ethnicity. Polonius’ daughter. Struggles to remain loyal to her father but cannot deny the yearnings of her heart. Her internal struggle cannot find resolution. A thinker; she incessantly investigates her own desires, thoughts, the world in which she lives.
Polonius
Male or Female. 40’s-50’s. Any ethnicity. Parent to Laertes and Ophelia. Chamberlain of Claudius’ court. Years of life in the political sphere has turned, what might have once been a ingenuous servant of the state, into an affectedly and grandly self-important schemer.
