APPOINTMENTS

Equity Members may sign up for an appointment through the Member Portal beginning Tuesday, February 20th at noon.

SPT Modified SPT 8; $601/week


SEEKING

Male and female actors/singers/dancers for the 2018 Season. See breakdown for details.


PREPARATION

Bring 2 short songs (one verse & one chorus) in the style of the show. (You may be asked to sing only one.) OK to sing from the show. Bring music book. Sides available at masonstreetwarehouse.org or AEA reception desk or ellen@sc4a.org. Those auditioning for ONCE should bring and play their instrument(s) and see the sides.

ONCE: 1st rehearsal, July 31, opens August 17, closes September 2.

Accompanist will be provided. Call backs will be held later in the week. Sides and music for specific roles will be available at masontreetwarehouse.org or at the reception desk at Actors' Equity Building, 557 West Randolph Street, or by contacting ellen@sc4a.org. Bring current headshot with resume stapled to the back and current contact information.

EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition.

BREAKDOWN

MAMMA MIA!: Seeking principals and ensemble actors/singers/dancers.

Donna (40s) - Female, any ethnicity. The former lead singer of Donna and The Dynamos who now owns a resort in Greece. She is also mother to Sophie. An attractive, out-going free spirit with some vulnerability. Mezzo-soprano with a strong pop/rock voice. Must move well.

Tanya (40s) - Female, any ethnicity. Former singer in the group Donna and The Dynamos and close friend to Donna and Rosie. Sophisticated, witty, flirtatious with a great sense of humor. Mezzo-soprano with a strong pop/rock voice. Must move well.

Rosie (40s) - Female, any ethnicity. Former singer in the group Donna and The Dynamos and close friend to Donna and Tanya. Comedic and quirky but sometimes shy. Alto with a strong pop/rock voice. Must move well.

Sophie (20s) - Female, any ethnicity. Donna's beautiful daughter who's determined to find her father before her wedding day. She isn't afraid to step outside of her comfort zone and live life on the edge. Soprano with a strong pop/rock voice. Must move well. Playing guitar a plus.

Sam (40s-50s) - Male, any ethnicity. A successful architect who's both handsome and charming. Also, possible father to Sophie. Strong actor with baritone voice. Must move well.

Harry (40s-50s) - Male, any ethnicity. A wealthy, British financier who's reconnecting with his free spirited past. Also, possible father to Sophie. Must have believable English accent. Strong actor with bari-tenor voice. Must move well. Playing guitar a plus.

Bill (40s-50s) - Male, any ethnicity. A travel documenter/author who's always ready for an adventure. Also, possible father to Sophie. Large and imposing in stature. Strong actor with Baritone voice. Must move well. Believable Australian accent a plus.

Sky (20s) - Male, any ethnicity. Handsome and charming with athletic build. He's left his professional life behind in order to marry Sophie and help Donna run her resort. Bari-tenor with pop/rock voice. Must move well.

Lisa/Ensemble (20s) - Female, any ethnicity. Sophie's best friend and bridesmaid. Sweet, eccentric, energetic. Mezzo-soprano with pop/rock voice. Must dance. Also part of the ensemble.

Ali/Ensemble (20s) - Female, any ethnicity. Sophie's other best friend and bridesmaid. Also sweet, eccentric, energetic. Mezzo-soprano with pop/rock voice. Must dance. Also part of the ensemble.

Pepper/Ensemble (20s) - Male, any ethnicity. Sky's friend who works at Donna's resort. Handsome with athletic build. Bari-tenor with pop/rock voice. Must dance. Acrobatic skills a plus. Also part of the ensemble.

Eddie/Ensemble (20s) - Male, any ethnicity. Another friend of Sky's who works at Donna's resort. Handsome with athletic build. Bari-tenor with pop/rock voice. Must dance. Acrobatic skills a plus. Also part of the ensemble.

Female Ensemble (20s) - Any ethnicity. Excellent dancers with great pop/rock voices. Acrobatic skills a plus.

Male Ensemble (20s) - Any ethnicity. Excellent dancers with great pop/rock voices. Acrobatic skills a plus.

ONCE: Seeking principal actors/singers/musicians.

Guy (mid-20s - early 30s) - Male, Irish. A struggling musician who works with his father in a vacuum repair shop. Brooding but charismatic with extreme appeal. Bari-tenor with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play guitar.

Girl (mid 20s - early 30s) - Female, Czech. Direct, intelligent and witty with a no-nonsense attitude. Doesn't want sympathy from others. Mezzo-soprano with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Czech accent. Must play piano.

Reza (mid 20s - early 30s) - Female, Czech. Sexy, funny, smart, with a larger than life attitude. Soprano with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Czech accent. Must play violin/fiddle.

Eamon (late 20s - 40s) - Male, Irish. Music manager at the studio where Guy and Girl record their album. A tough nut to crack. Baritone with rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play guitar and piano; melodica and harmonica a plus.

Da (50s-60s) - Male, Irish. Guy's father, runs a vacuum repair shop. A man of few words but caring and warm. Baritone with rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play mandolin. Guitar and ukulele a plus.

Baruska (50s-60s) - Female, Czech. Girl's mother. A caring woman with few inhibitions. Alto with rock/folk voice. Must speak with believable Czech accent. Must play accordian and piano. Tambourine and melodica a plus.

Bank Manager (mid 30s - mid 40s) - Male, Irish. Prim and proper banker with a secret passion for music. Tenor with a folk/rock voice. Must have believable Irish (Cork) accent. Must play guitar and cello.

Andrej (20s - early 30s) - Male, Czech. Fast food employee with big dreams. Earnest and kind with a gangly, slight stature. Baritone with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Czech accent. Must play guitar and bass guitar. Electric bass, ukulele, tambourine a plus.

Svejc (mid 20s - late 30s) - Male, Czech. Eccentric guy who spends most of his time watching TV and drinking coffee. Baritone with a rock/folk voice. Must speak with believable Czech accent. Must play guitar and drums. Banjo & mandolin a plus.

Ex-Girlfriend (mid 20s - early 30s) - Female, Irish. Guy's ex-girlfriend who now lives in NY. Sensual & charismatic. Mezzo-soprano with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play violin.

Emcee ( mid 20s - 40s) - Male, Irish. A good-natured ball-buster who works at the local bar. Baritone with a rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play guitar and piano.

Billy (30s - 40s) - Male, Irish. Owner of the music store where Girl plays piano. Large, loud, and funny but also protective. Baritone with rock/folk voice. Must have believable Irish accent. Must play guitar.

Ivanka (6-10) - Female, Czech. Girl's daughter. Sweet-natured. Must be comfortable performing on stage and singing.
