DONNA
(late 30s-early 40s) – Free-spirited, independent, passionate and vulnerable, she is the former lead singer in a group called “Donna and the Dynamos. She now owns and runs a taverna on a Greek island. Music: (F#3-D5)
SOPHIE
(18-25) Donna’s bright and resourceful daughter is determined to find the romance and happiness she feels eluded her mother. She has a zany warm loving spirit. (Ab3-D5)
TANYA
(late 30s-early 40s) A former singer in the “Dynamos”. Rich, sophisticated, opinionated, flirtatious and acerbic. Music:(E3-C#5)
ROSIE
(late 30s-early 40s) A former singer in the “Dynamos” who now writes for a feminist press. She’s confident, fun and strong. She has a keen sense of humor. Good comic actress. Music: (E3-C#5)
LISA
(18-25) Sophie’s supportive, caring and fun friend. Should sing and dance well. (Ab3-C5).
ALI
(18-25) Sophie’s loyal friend. Carefree. Should sing and dance well. (Ab3-C5)
SAM
(35-50) May be Sophie’s father. Charming, sexy, smart and successful architect. (C3-G4).
HARRY
(35-50) May be Sophie’s father. British financier, responsible, well to do, conservative, trying to reconnect with his freer younger self. Must do an English accent. (C3-E4)
BILL
(35-50) May be Sophie’s father. A travel writer. Good-natured, kind bachelor always ready for adventure. Funny. (C3-D4)
SKY
(late 20s) Sophie’s fiancé. Grounded, hardworking, intelligent and dedicated to Sophie. (C4-Ab4) .
PEPPER
(20s) Sky’s friend. Helps run the taverna. Charming, flirtatious, and fun. Must be a good mover/dancer.
EDDIE
(20s) Sky’s friend. Also works at the taverna. Cool, laid back. Must be a good mover/dancer.
FATHER ALEXANDRIOS
(35-45) the town Priest. Patient and caring. Music: Our Last Summer
ENSEMBLE
(30’s) Males and Females with great pop voices, and all must move very well. : Mix of SATB-Soprano: to a solid Ab5, Alto: E5 (high belt), Tenor: solid Ab5, Bass: a few low notes
