SYNOPSIS: King LeBron James was just the hero that Cleveland needed. One of the greatest NBA players to ever hit the court, his influence on the whole city loomed large for the dozen years of his reign. This play chronicles the unexpected friendship between two men whose intertwined fortunes are tied to those of their idol.
UNDERSTUDY FOR SHAWN: [CAST: Glenn Davis] Black, (ages 21, 27, 31 and 33) A bit reserved, but confident in himself. A writer. A hard-core basketball fan. A guy who thinks before he talks. But he always has an opinion, even if he doesn’t wear it on his sleeve. Quietly ambitious.
UNDERSTUDY FOR MATT: [CAST: Chris Perfetti] white, (ages 21, 27, 31 and 33) A slightly messy guy who, somewhat incongruously, works in a wine bar. A hard-core basketball fan. A guy who talks before he thinks. Funny, with a kind of restless energy. Emotional and talkative.
