APPOINTMENTS

NYC Appointment only auditions to be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 -- 12PM-6PM and Sunday, Oct. 21 -- 12PM-2PM at El Barrio’s Artspace, 215 E 99th St, NYC. Auditions will be GROUP auditions, each an hour long. Possible callbacks Sunday from 2-6pm.

CONTRACT

Showcase-NY Basic Showcase Code, travel stipend provided.

SEEKING

Actors and Musician/Actors for a rock-inspired Julius Caesar . A cast of ten, bolstered by an ever-present onstage rock band. All roles currently open to all genders. POC strongly encouraged to apply.

Hamlet Isn’t Dead is dedicated to diverse and inclusive casting. Actors of all ethnicities, are encouraged to apply.

Hamlet Isn’t Dead’s style is classified by immediate storytelling with no fourth wall, live music, and a heightened sense of joy. We are most interested in seeing your favorite monologue and how much of yourself you can bring to it.

BREAKDOWN

Julius Caesar - a great general of Rome; ambitious, susceptible to flattery, superstitious

Mark Antony - Caesar's closest companion; adventurous, astute, emotional

Marcus Brutus - a noble Roman; patriotic, idealistic, and well-respected

Cassius - Conspirator and close friend of Brutus'; shrewd and tactful but sometimes impulsive

Casca - Conspirator who tells Brutus and Cassius that Caesar refused the crown three times

Cinna - Conspirator who knows how important it is that Brutus goes along with the plan

Decius Brutus - Conspirator who persuades Caesar to come to the Capitol

Calpurnia/Messala - Caesar's spouse who has prophetic dreams about the murder / Solider in Brutus's army

Portia/Octavius - Brutus's spouse who is usually a true confidante / Caesar's nephew and heir

Lucius - Brutus's servant; youthful and loyal
