CONTRACT

SPT SPT 5; $425/week min (salary pending)

SEEKING

Equity actors and actor/singers for various roles for the opening production of the 2018-19 season - JEKYLL & HYDE. Actors of all ethnicities STRONGLY encouraged to attend. Connecticut and Westchester talent a plus.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a song from the contemporary musical theatre canon that is acting driven and focuses on storytelling. Please bring a picture & resume, stapled together. Total audition time should not exceed 2 minutes.

Present in the auditions will be Kevin Connors (director), David Wolfson (Musical Director), Jim Schilling (MTC Managing Director) and Alex Mongillo (Administrative Manager)

OTHER DATES

JEKYLL & HYDE rehearses September 15 - 27; Opens September 28, 2018 and runs Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm through October 14, 2018. All rehearsals and performances are at the theatre in Norwalk, CT. NYC actors' (who are cast) train travel via Metro North is paid by the theatre. Commute time is approx. 1hr 10 minutes one way.

OTHER

Music Theatre of Connecticut, begnning its 32nd season in September, is located in a beautiful theatre center in Norwalk, CT. The company has won numerous Best awards and Connecticut Crtitics' Circle Award Nominations, including the prestigious Killen Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Theatre, joining Long Wharf, Hartford Stage and the Westport Playhouse.

EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition.

An Equity monitor will be provided.

JEKYLL/HYDE:
30's, extremely strong actor and singer, high baritone, must transform from sensitive Victorian doctor to charismatic, sexual serial killer

EMMA:
Jekyll's fiance, upper crust, innocent, soprano with belt, 20's

LUCY:
late 20's/30's, prostitute with a heart of gold, lower class but smart, strong actress/singer, belt with top

UTTERSON:
Jekyll's best friend, attorney, smart, intuitive, 30's

SIR DANVERS CAREW:
Emma's father, well-bred, loving, baritone, late 40's/50's

SIMON STRIDE:
Jekyll's rival, handsome, upper class, late's 20's/30's

LADY BEACONSFIELD:
Society dowager but still on the prowl, 50's

BISHOP OF BASINGSTOKE:
Conservative looking but has a secret hobby with the ladies of the night, 50's

LORD SAVAGE:
40's man-about-town, arrogant; doubles as Spider, a pimp

SIR ARCHIBALD PROOPS:
Queen's Counsel, all-business, 50's

GENERAL LORD GLOSSOP:
ramrod straight, 50's/60's
