BREAKDOWN

[MADELYN]
Female, 30s-40s, probably Caucasian. Keenan's wife. PhD holder, a former university academic, now a yoga instructor. Reflexively suspicious -- not to say hostile -- toward conservatives. Quick to own any space or conversation but there is appeal in her vibrancy and strength.

[KEENAN]
Male, 30s-40s, African-American. Madelyn's husband. PhD holder, a university academic. rational to a fault; averse to conflict; often caught up in his own verbiage if he's not careful but remains charming.

[JIM]
Male, 30s-40s, Caucasian. Heather's husband. Hunter, rabid Ohio State football fan. Probably doesn't have a 4-year college degree. Hale, hearty, boisterous, jokey; enjoys a good time and other people's company, can occasionally be clueless about social clues or other people's feelings.

[HEATHER]
Female, 30s-40s, probably Caucasian. Jim's wife. Stay-at home suburban mother. Warm inviting positive energy. Largely centered and serene. Her instinct is to eschew confrontation, keep everybody happy. Instantly appealing.

[DR. HOSKINS]
Male, probably in his fifties, Any Ethnicity. A successful reproductive endocrinologist running a fertility clinic that just made a potentially career-ending mistake. Bad at crisis management. Terrified of lawsuits. Some might call him clownish.
