PARTICULARLY SEEKING BONAFIDE SAN DIEGO CTY. PERFORMERS for GRINCH.

Preparation
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear (ie. jazz/chara. shoes) for movement.

*Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced.

Breakdown

BRIGHT STAR From award-winning screenwriter and playwright Steve Martin (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Roxanne) and chart-topping singer-songwriter Edie Brickell comes a world premiere American musical inspired by their Grammy Award-winning collaboration “Love Has Come For You.” Bright Star features 25 new songs and tells a beguiling tale that unfolds in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina between 1923 and 1945. Billy Cane, a young soldier just home from World War II, meets Alice Murphy, the brilliant editor of a southern literary journal. Together they discover a powerful secret that alters their lives. Tony Award-winning director Walter Bobbie (Broadway’s Chicago) makes his Globe debut with this entertaining musical of enduring love, family ties, and the light of forgiveness that shines from a bright star.

Everyone’s favorite green meanie will return for his 17th consecutive year in Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, the heartwarming musical based on the classic book and animated film. James Vásquez returns to direct this beloved San Diego holiday tradition.
PARTICULARLY SEEKING BONAFIDE SAN DIEGO CTY. PERFORMERS.
Ensemble Adults, Male and Female, 20s – 40s. Seeking different types and vivid personalities. The more physically versatile the better. Need strong singing voices of all types.  
Will also act as understudies for:    

The Grinch. (Male, 30s-50s). A beastly, charming curmudgeon. Scary but with a heart underneath his gruff exterior. Has the size and presence of a Music Hall superstar with deft athleticism. A triple threat. Needs a strong, booming baritone singing voice with falsetto.

Young Max (Male, 20s) The Grinch's dog, a young pup at heart. Endlessly energetic and acrobatic. Extremely loyal, shows great patience and humor in the face of adversity. Needs a strong Tenor singing voice.

Mama Who (Female, 30s – early 40s) Quirky, funny, on the brink of saturation but still maintaining complete control. Until… Needs a strong, warm soprano singing voice with chest range as well.

Grandma Who (Female, mid 40s – 50s)
Loving, has the ear of the children and the patience to calm them. Needs a strong character mezzo singing voice.
