Nathan Detroit:
45 to 55. Baritone to High F. Funny, warm and appealing character man. Engaged to Adelaide for 14 years, he is always looking for thebig break he never seems to get. Superb comic timing.
Sky Masterson:
age 35 to 50. Baritone B to E flat. Romantic, but cool and suave, very attractive. Extraordinary presence and charm…though a slick performer, he also has a vulnerable heart.
Adelaide:
30-40. Alto. A to E5. Funny, quirky, show girl with a heart of gold. Engaged to Nathan for 14 years, and is ready to settle down. Superb comic timing.
Sarah Brown:
age 25 to 35. Soprano to High A. Lovely and elegantly “upright by nature, she’s still ready and able to let her hair down. Any ethnicity.
Nicely-Nicely Johnson:
age 35 to 50. Character man, Tenor to high B flat. Best pal to Nathan Detroit. Excellent comic timing. Any ethnicity.
Benny Southstreet:
age 35-50. Strong Baritone to high G. Character man. Quirky and fun. Any ethnicity.
Big Jule:
age 40-55. Baritone. The gangster most feared. All physical types will be considered with preference for men over 6’3” or under 5’4”. Any ethnicity.
Angie the Ox, Rusty Charlie, Harry the Horse:
character Men age 35-55. Comic, varied and interesting physical types. Lovable two-bit gangsters. All vocal ranges. All ethnicities.
Arvide Abernathy:
age 60+. Wise, gentle leader of the Salvation Army in Times Square. Family to Sarah Brown. Baritone.
General Cartwright:
female, age 50+. Dramatic soprano chops a plus. Strong, no nonsense, good comic timing. Any ethnicity.
Lt. Brannigan:
Male, age 45+. Tough guy cop, swings his weight around.
