Classics professor from the US. The stakes couldn’t be higher for her professionally and personally as she works towards tenure. Deeply passionate about her work, but easily frazzled. Daphne's mother is prone to worry about her. Daphne is prone to worry ... period.

Age: 25-35
NOTE: Has moments of intimacy with Dionysus and Ralph.
God of Comedy, need I say more? Think of a modern-day cross between Jimmy Durante and John Belushi. The ancient epics describe him as a “joy for mortals.” He is also the god of misrule with a hearty appetite for all things sexual. He’s funny, irreverent, and anarchic.

Has moments of intimacy with Daphne.
Super sexy and passionate - the Muse of Comedy and the perfect complement to Dionysus. Modern-day cross between Judy Holliday and Kristen Chenoweth. While she is not exactly the sharpest sword in the armory, she makes up for it with her wonderful self-confidence.

Has moments of intimacy with Ralph.
American classicist academic with horn-rimmed glasses. He's bursting with energy and is deeply charismatic. His lead on finding a new play by Euripides might be just what Daphne needs professionally. And he might be just what Daphne needs personally.

Age: 30-40
Has moments of intimacy with Brooklyn, Daphne, Dean, and Talia.
A force of nature. Happily and rather wildly ungainly and has the full-throated laugh of a large woodland creature. An academic. English accent a must.

Has moments of intimacy with Ralph.
Brooklyn is an alumnus of the school turned movie star and one of the university’s biggest donors. Her combo of confidence, charisma, and style leave people speechless. She's the picture of sophistication and sharp as a tack.

Has moments of intimacy with Ares and Ralph.
Aristide is our classic Greek “narrator.” Aleksi - a Russian émigré and now custodian at the university – sweet, well-meaning if a bit clumsy, and a closeted fan of Greek theatre. Ares – the God of War - is rude, bellicose, and tremendously manly.
