SYNOPSIS: A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
Note: All roles are open to any ethnicity.
ALAN RALEIGH (MALE, 30-40s) A lawyer, married to Annette. The kind of person who forgets to eat because they are so busy and also the kind of person who takes work calls in the middle of meetings with other parents.
ANNETTE RALEIGH (FEMALE, 30-40s) Works in wealth management. Married to Alan. A little nervous in general, her stomach isn’t the best, and all of this tension is really getting to her.
MICHAEL NOVAK (MALE, 30-40s) Owns a wholesale company. Married to Veronica. Tries to be civil but it doesn’t take a lot for him to open up and say what’s really on his mind. Hates hamsters.
VERONICA NOVAK (FEMALE, 30-40s) A writer. Married to Michael. Really trying to be the bigger person here (as she always does), but while doing so has a habit of judging what others are doing and how they could do better.
