Girl From the North Country is written and directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson, boldly reimagines 20 legendary songs of Bob Dylan, including Hurricane, I Want You, Slow Train Coming, Forever Young and Like A Rolling Stone as they’ve never been heard before.

This spiritually uplifting and beautiful story is set in Duluth, MN, in 1934, when a group of wanderers’ lives intersect at a house full of music, life and hope weaving through a story the Chicago Tribune declares is “Nothing less than a Broadway Revelation.”

Production Stage Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

As critical members of the stage management team, the Assistant Stage Managers collaborate with all artistic staff, performers and production personnel in the creation and maintenance of the production.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge, adherence, and application of all Equity rules and company policies.
Create and maintain safety checklists and SOP’s. Safety is a key responsibility.
Manage the cast backstage and anticipate their needs for a safe performance.
Communicate any show notes, changes, and information in an efficient and timely manner.
Call the show and run the backstage SM tracks as required.
Create and help maintain presets and running lists for all departments.
Create and maintain personnel paperwork, breakdowns, reports, and other types of show documentation as needed.
Facilitate the daily operations of a busy musical production including all pre-show rehearsals, safety checks, and other day-to-day events.
Order, inventory, and maintain all first aid, office, and other miscellaneous stage management supplies.
Collaborate and assist the production’s Press and Marketing teams on photo shoots, appearances, and publicity opportunities as needed.
Assist in managing rehearsal rooms during the original rehearsals and understudy rehearsals.
Assist in training of new stage managers and stage manager subs.
Assist in the onboarding of new cast, musicians, and crew members.
Assist in creating schedules and timelines for performances and rehearsals as needed.
Assist in creating and distributing the daily show lineup and program inserts.
Assist with SM load ins and load outs, including hanging directional/room signage, lighting focus, liaising with Front of House, setting the deck, and other load in duties as assigned.
Other Stage Management duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

Comprehensive communication and proactive problem-solving skills are required.
The ability to remain calm in stressful conditions is a necessity.
Experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe, FileMaker Pro (Claris), Mac systems, and Google Suite preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience on Broadway productions, or other large-scale productions is preferred.
