Breakdown

#flowersstink! is a world premeire production, co-commissioned as a collaboration between the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences and the U.S. Botanic Garden. This musical piece, which sets classical poetry to modern American music, follows a middle-school girl who, with the help of two fantastical plant beings, discovers the beauty of both poetry and nature.

Seeking:
Musical theatre performers, highly skilled with at least one musical instrument, for the Kennedy Center production of #flowersstink!, which will be presented at the U.S. Botanic Garden. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to submit their materials. Actors will be signed on as Actor/ASMs.

THE WOMAN:
18+ female actor/musician to play a plant being. Earthy, vibrant, and funny. Should be highly skilled with at least one instrument, and able to handle a large range of styles. Multi-instrumentalists and singers are a plus.

THE MAN:
18+ male actor/musician to play a plant being. Warm, kind, and a bit of an innocent. Should be highly skilled with at least one instrument, and able to handle a large range of styles. Multi-instrumentalists and singers are a plus.
