The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival / Merry Go Round Playhouse, a multiple venue, musical theatre producing company, seeks an Equity Assistant Stage Manager for the 2016 Production of Austen's Pride: A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice to be presented at the Callahan Theatre at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: building/maintaining a master shift sheet, managing the deck, assigning deck run crew tracks, overseeing props tracking, ensuring a safe/clean environment throughout rehearsals and performances, notation of blocking and choreography, scheduling fittings around the rehearsal schedule based on the COST contract, etc.

Candidates must have extensive previous stage management experience, excellent organizational skills, experience with large musicals, be able to lift 50lbs, possess strong people skills and approach the workplace with a collaborative outlook. Our mainstage, the Merry Go Round Playhouse (Auburn), presents large-scale Broadway spectacles with high caliber talent from Broadway and across the country at our flagship location in beautiful Emerson Park on Owasco Lake. 2016 Season: Oklahoma!, the US premiere of Sir Tim Rice’s From Here To Eternity, Crazy For You, the regional premiere of Treasure Island, A New Musical, Million Dollar Quartet, the regional premiere of Tenderly, the new Rosemary Clooney musical and Smokey Joe’s Café.

Our second venue, Theatre Mack (Auburn), is a cabaret-style environment, housed in a converted and beautifully restored carriage house. There, we present a new musical in development each week, encouraging audience feedback and discourse in our new works series, “The PiTCH.” This year, we celebrate the fifth anniversary of “The PiTCH” and to date, we have given development opportunity and visibility to forty seven new musicals.

In Rochester, as part of a new partnership with Nazareth College, the Festival will produce Austen’s Pride, A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice at the Callahan Theatre.
