BREAKDOWN
BUDDY
Male, late 20’s – early 30’s. Funny and warm with an infectious personality. He has been raised as one of Santa’s elves and has the innocence of a child. He has outrageous enthusiasm for everything he sees and does but it is very genuine. Good comic actor with great timing and a strong singing voice up to a G. A strong mover with a great sense of physical comedy.
JOVIE
Female, 20’s -early 30’s Good comic ability, appealing, and relatable. A New Yorker who doesn’t have much Christmas spirit until she meets Buddy. A strong singing voice with a belt up to a D flat.
WALTER
Male, 40’s – 50’s. Upscale businessman who has become cold and distant with his family until Buddy comes along. A workaholic with little time left for enjoying life. A strong singer.
EMILY
Female, 30’s – 40’s, Walter’s wife. She is at first overwhelmed by Buddy but soon embraces him as part of the family. Warm with a strong singing voice with a belt up to a C
DEB
Female, 20’s -40’s, Funny secretary at Walter’s office, full of character and sharp wit. Strong character singer with an excellent belt. Strong mover.
MR. GREENWAY
Male – 40’s -50’s, Shrewd business man, must have great comic timing and sing well
SANTA
Male 40’s -60’s, Jolly, warm, funny with a good singing voice. Down to earth. A beer and pizza kind of Santa
