CONTRACT

SPT SPT 4 contract ($381.00 per week actor, $460.00 SM)

SEEKING

Seeking submissions for:

COUNT DRACULA: Age: 530 - give or take a year or two. The man. He starts this adaptation looking as if he is ancient - somewhere between 75 and death - becoming younger as he gets to England and gets fresh blood – literally. Ultimately ends up appearing to be in his 30's. Incredibly powerful. Capable of commanding a stage with complete stillness. Erotic and sensuous. Brilliant and cunning. (500+ year’s accumulated knowledge after all.) He needs a complete command of eastern European dialect, an ability to play from 35 to 75, and a magnetic stage presence.

OTHER

A faithful adaptation, capturing the substance and style of the novel. This material is most successfully acted by those with an affinity, experience, and training for the classics. The situation and events demand an emotional size and commitment that is comparable to Greek or Elizabethan tragedy, yet it must be completely grounded and believable. The language maintains the formal late Victorian literary style of the novel and requires an ease with language.
