As such, Equity encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.
Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions.
Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
MADELINE ASHTON – Late 30’s. A vain, glamourous star of stage and screen. A true diva. Desperate to stay relevant and deathly afraid of aging, she’ll go to any length to stay young and beautiful. But underneath all that silicone and filler there’s a heart. Excellent comic chops and a rich singing voice with a strong belt/mix and a clean soprano to C6. Principal. ROLE IS ON OFFER.
HELEN SHARP – Late 30’s. Intelligent, dry, bookish. A loyal friend, sincere and honest. A wannabe actress turned struggling writer. Deeply in love with her fiancée, she finally feels that her life is on track -- Until Madeline unleashes a rage she didn’t know she had in her. Dynamic comic with a powerhouse high-belt and a strong mix F#3 to F#5. Principal. ROLE IS ON OFFER.
VIOLA VAN HORN – Ageless, an exotic beauty – Seductive and captivating, she gets what she wants by exploiting people’s fear of aging. She’s developed a beauty potion that she will sell… for the ultimate price. Powerful and mysterious with a sultry Shirley Bassey-esque quality. Powerhouse belter with a high belt/soprano mix to G#5. Principal. ROLE IS ON OFFER.
ERNEST MENVILLE – Late 30’s. Well-intentioned but malleable. A gifted cosmetic surgeon who uses his powers for good until he gets caught up in Madeline’s web and becomes an alcoholic, dissolute plastic surgeon. Excellent comic with a pleasant bari-tenor voice who is confident with patter and complex rhythm. Principal. ROLE IS ON OFFER.
CHAGALL – Age: indeterminate. Head of Viola’s household (and one of her clients). Handsome and well built. He’s cool and mysterious. He enjoys wielding power as Viola’s right-hand man. Principal.
