SEEKING

New Brierley Resident Acting Company Member. As a member, you will serve as a master actor and artistic leader at Dallas Theater Center. Duties include
include being in residence for the DTC rehearsal and performance schedule for each show in which you have been cast; teaching in education and outreach programs; developing new work; advising the Artistic Staff; and serving as an artistic advocate and leader in the community.

BREAKDOWN

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Act in designated productions for the 2018-2019 season

Preferably an actor appropriate for the following roles:

  • Ana, Estella, Pancha, or Rosali Real Women Have Curves
  • Viola or Olivia Twelfth Night
  • As Cast A Christmas Carol
  • As Cast Public Works Dallas

Act in readings and workshops of new work as requested by DTC, when available;

Contribute to the creation and development of new work at DTC, through company created projects, proposing project ideas, and providing creative/dramaturgical feedback, as requested and when available;

Facilitate pre and post show discussions (i.e. Come Early and Stay Late) as requested and when available;

Teach one or more classes (i.e. Summerstage, Skokos Learning Lab, as requested and when available;

Participate in or facilitate community partner events, as requested and when available;

Provide council to the Artistic Staff in determining artistic goals, programs, policies and season planning;

Participate in annual professional development opportunities created for the company to advance artistic skills, build collaborative processes, and promote artistic growth;

Serve as an artistic ambassador for DTC, including development and marketing events;

Other miscellaneous duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Member of Actors Equity Association or professional equivalent.

Training and experience as a working professional actor.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Acting skills, including voice/speech, physical, and musical skills.

Broad knowledge of theatrical production process and acting techniques.

Ability to work collaboratively, positively, and productively with directors, actors, designers, technicians and administrators within the confines of time and budget.

RESIDENCY: As a member of the Brierley Resident Acting Company, you agree to maintain a residence in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex or immediate surrounding areas. All Acting Company members will be paid a Company Member preferred rate (above AEA minimum) for acting in productions, workshops, and rehearsed readings. Additionally, Company members will receive hourly compensation for additional work. Company Members are appointed to a one-year term. Acting Company members are encouraged to act in film, television and at theaters other than DTC, and to engage in professional opportunities that will benefit themselves as artists and will contribute to the educational and cultural life of the community.
