Local Bay Area actors are encouraged to audition. Center REP is committed to hiring local artists.

Performers, ages 8 through 70, of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, and dis/abilities are encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a monologue(s)/song of your choice. You will have a total of 3 minutes. There will be an accompanist. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.   • LEMML: 30s, Male Presenting, The Stage Manager. A kind-hearted country tailor whose life is forever changed upon reading Asch’s “The God of Vengeance”. Lemml exemplifies the belief that theatre can transform our lives and the lives of those around us. Singing and movement required. Vocal range: F#2 to E3

  • TRACK 2: BOB CRATCHIT - Any Ethnicity, Male-identifying, 30-50s. SCROOGE’S clerk. A devoted husband and father. Long-suffering and compliant. He will stand up to his employer by play’s end. Doubles as JACOB MARLEY.
  • TRACK 3: FRED HOLYWELL - Any Ethnicity, Male-identifying, 20-30s. SCROOGE’S nephew and only living relative. Playful and generous. His persistence will be rewarded by play’s end. Doubles as FEZZIWIG and PRESENT. Comfortable carrying a tune (in character).

SEEKING:

  • Lenny Magrath, 30, the oldest sister. Lenny is insecure about most things in her life, but especially about her relationships with men. She has a difficult relationship with her sister Meg and hides in her caregiving, which gives her an excuse to stay home.
  • Meg Magrath, 27, the middle sister. Meg moved to Hollywood to pursue her singing career, seemingly abandoning her sisters and her relationship with Doc. She appears to live her life in the moment but may not be as steely hard as she seems.
  • Babe Botrelle, 24, the youngest sister. Babe is the most fragile of the sisters. A dreamer and innocent, she’s not quite sure what all the fuss is about her shooting her husband.
  • Chick Boyle, 29, the sisters’ first cousin. Chick is brassy, loud and continually passes judgment on her cousins and how they live their lives.
  • Doc Porter, 30, Meg’s old boyfriend. Doc is now married with two children, but the flame he carries for Meg still burns bright.
  • Barnette Lloyd, 26, Babe’s lawyer. Barnette is a recent law school graduate who is competent beyond his years. He has a soft spot for Babe and wants to protect her from her abusive husband.
