Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Holding/Audition room information:
The audition room can accommodate no more than 52 individuals at a time.
The holding room can accommodate no more than 80 individuals at a time.
All roles will be understudied.
[BOBBY CHILD]: 20s-30s, male-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. A young man in love with musical theatre. Charismatic leading man and strong physical comedian. He impersonates Bela Zangler in order to impress Polly and save the theatre. (Strong dancer, tap and partnering, moments of intimacy required, Baritone - A3 to F4.)
[BELA ZANGLER]: 30s-40s, male-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Accent required. Cultured, European, Ziegfeld-like Impresario. (Exceptional physical comedian, moments of intimacy required. Baritone - C3 to F4.)
[POLLY BAKER]: 20s-30s, female-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. The Post-Mistress of Deadrock, Nevada. Can hold her own as the only woman in a town full of men. (Strong dancer, tap and partnering, moments of intimacy required, Mezzo - G#4/Ab4 to D#5/Eb5.)
[LOTTIE CHILD/PATRICIA FODOR]: 50s+, female-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Plays [LOTTIE CHILD]: Bobby’s business oriented and controlling mother, and [PATRICIA FODOR]: Intrepid British tourist and adventurer. She hikes into town with her husband and encourages everyone to keep a stiff upper lip. (Soprano - D#4/Eb4 to F5.)
[LANK HAWKINS]: 30s, male-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Gruff, rough-hewn saloon proprietor. The only person in town who isn’t impressed with the new arrivals. (Moments of intimacy required, Baritone - E3 to G3.)
[EVERETT BAKER]: 50s+, male-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Polly’s kindly father and owner of the Gaiety Theatre. (Baritone)
[IRENE ROTH]: 20s-30s, female-identifying, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Demanding society debutante who is engaged to marry Bobby. (Strong mover, moments of intimacy required, Mezzo - G#4/Ab4 to A♯5/B♭5.)
