PREPARATION

If you are auditioning for musicals and plays, please prepare a one 1-minute monologue and a musical theatre song selection of approximately 32 bars. If you are auditioning for only plays, please prepare 2 contrasting 1-minute monologues. Also, please provide a headshot and resume.

Sherlock Holmes (30 – 50): Lean and moody. A bundle of energy and intelligence.

Doctor Watson (35 – 55): Solid and reliable. The Sancho Panza to Holmes’ Don Quixote

Actor #1 (25 – 45): Must be able to play a variety of roles with ease, 14 to be exact.

Actor #2 (25 – 45): Must be able to play a variety of roles with ease, 9 to be exact.

Actress #1 (25 – 45): Must be able to play a variety of roles with ease, 14 to be exact.

Annie

Annie (10 – 12): A street-wise orphan; she is eventually taken in by Oliver Warbucks. Spunky, friendly, big-voiced.

Oliver Warbucks (40 – 55): A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish.

Grace Farrell (30 – 45): Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, gentle.

Miss Hannigan (35 – 50): The orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor and men. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold.

Rooster (25 – 35): Miss Hannigan's no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man.

Lily St. Regis (25 – 35): Rooster's girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck. She is considered to be a floozy and bimbo.

Orphans (6 – 13): The other girls in the orphanage with Annie. These girls are gritty, neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and potentially loveable. Includes Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Lawrence Jameson (40 – 60): An experienced British con artist who is sophisticated, suave, and elegant.

Freddy Benson (30 – 40): A young, clever, aspiring American con artist. He is a sloppy, yet attractive womanizer, and is eventually conned by Christine.

Christine Colgate (30 – 40): A seemingly good-natured American heiress vacationing on the French Riviera, who is revealed to be a notorious con artist. Naive and clueless at first, she becomes cunning and mischievous.

Andre Thibault (40 – 55): Lawrence's French assistant. Official and mostly serious, he has a light-hearted nature and a quirky sense of humor.

Muriel Eubanks (50 – 60): A wealthy and attractive American socialite from Nebraska, she one of Lawrence's victims and Andre's subsequent love interest.

Jolene (25 – 35): An American heiress from Oklahoma and the Princess of Petroleum, she is very eager, optimistic, and energetic.

Ensemble (20 – 45): Waiters, butlers, maids, dancers.
