Rehearsal: 1/22/18
Open: 2/6/18
Close: 2/10/18

NOTE: CALL ME MADAM originally opened on Broadway in 1950. A satire on politics and foreign policy that spoofs America's penchant for lending billions of dollars to needy countries, it centers on Sally Adams, a well-meaning but ill-informed socialite widow who is appointed United States Ambassador to the fictional European country of Lichtenburg. While there, she charms the local gentry, especially Cosmo Constantine, while her press attaché Kenneth Gibson falls in love with Princess Maria. While still set in the Truman administration, the production will bring a fresh take on this political satire.

A wealthy, well-meaning but ill-informed glamorous socialite widow from Texas who is appointed United States Ambassador to the fictional European country of Lichtenburg. While the role was originated by Ethel Merman, we in no way want it to be performed or sung in Ms. Merman’s style. Must be an excellent comedienne and strong mezzo-soprano /belter.

Princess Maria – mid to late 20s. The beautiful heiress to the crown of Lichtenberg, Maria grew up as a royal, in a sheltered life always behaving like the perfect princess until she meets and falls in love with Sally Adams’s press attaché, Kenneth.
