Equity actors of all races, ethnicities, abilities, and gender identities for our 2023 Parks program, CHICAGO SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKS, which will be a celebration of Shakespeare through scenes and songs (see breakdown).
Chicago Shakespeare Theater is deeply committed to welcoming artists, audience members, and staff of broadly diverse and intersectional identities, including (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, ability, faith/belief tradition, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, age, socio economic background, and nationality. Prepare one short classical monologue (verse preferred). American accents. Also prepare a brief cut of one contemporary/pop or musical theater song that best shows off your range and personality. Bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Holding/Audition room information:
The audition room can accommodate no more than 45 individuals at a time.
The holding room can accommodate no more than 35 individuals at a time.
All roles will be understudied.
Seeking:
Ensemble: Any races, ethnicities, genders, and abilities for an acting and singing ensemble to perform short scenes and songs inspired by the work of Shakespeare to audiences around Chicagoland. These are free public performances.
