SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Barter Theatre's 2023 Season (See breakdown).

Barter Theatre believes that great stories belong to everyone. We welcome actors of all backgrounds, identities, ages, and ethnicities to audition. We encourage BIPOC actors to audition for all roles.

All roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

Non-singers - prepare a brief monologue appropriate to the play title listed. Singers - prepare a brief song appropriate to one of the musical titles listed, and a 1-minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring your picture and resume stapled together.

Respirator or surgical masks are required to be worn at all times indoors, except during your audition. Barter Theatre has instituted a mandatory COVID vaccination program for all employees.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

For shows/roles that have already been CAST by the theatre’s resident acting company, actors auditioning will also be considered for possible future replacements if needed. The dates following each show are the dates of performance.

Rehearsals begin 6-8 weeks before the performances.
