Breakdown
Synopsis:
A wild clandestine burlesque. A brutal Orwellian regime. Moulin Rouge meets 1984 in this seductive new musical. Revolution erupts when a puritanical surveillance state seeks to stamp out a brothel of colorful second-class citizens servicing its soldiers from the shadows.

CHARACTERS:
M (Mid to Late 20’s) Soprano - ALREADY CAST - The ring leader and mysterious host of the burlesque club.
Noah (30’s) Baritone (Partial nudity/Kissing Scene)- The headlining comedian of the burlesque club. He is a cynical alcoholic that believes in every man for himself.
Andrew (Early 20’s) Tenor (Kissing Scene)- A young charming man with a child like optimism. He grew up in the conservative world but begins to question everything when he steps into the underbelly of society.
Justine (Late 20’s) Soprano - ALREADY CAST - Justine is a tortured seductress and headlining performer of the burlesque club.
Miles (Late 20’s- early 30’s) Tenor - ALREADY CAST - The only openly gay fugitive of the burlesque club with rockstar charm and charisma.
Cambria (Early 20’s) Alto - ALREADY CAST - Andrew’s conservative and loving sweetheart. She is young, whimsical, and dedicated to maintaining the purity of the Coalition.
General Sill (40’s) Baritone - ALREADY CAST - The brilliant leader of The Service. He is cold, calculating, logical, but has the best of righteous intentions.
Derik, Officer Cline, (20’s-early 30’s) Baritone/Bass - Derik is the wonderfully warm and welcoming stage manager of the burlesque club. Office Cline is the vicious bull dog of General Sill.
Sivan, Trixie (30’s) Alto (Partial nudity/Lingerie) - Sivan is the tormented, and frail wife of Noah. Trixie is a boisterous lesbian powerhouse at the burlesque club.
Robert Townsend, Bryan (40’s) Tenor (Partial nudity. Need to be comfortable with same-sex kissing) - Robert Townsend is the cold-blooded chancellor of the conservative party. Bryan is a grounded, joyful, and wonderfully affectionate gay man at the burlesque club.
Dante, Young Man, Bruised Man (30’s) Bass (Partial nudity. Need to be comfortable with same-sex kissing) - Dante is the pleasure seeking and fun loving partner of Bryan. He has wit, sass, and a very footloose personality.
Tony, Angry Man, Guard One, Soldier #1 (30’s) Tenor- A hyper sarcastic party boy with a temper.
Laila, Service Officer (20’s-early 30’s) (Partial nudity/Lingerie) - Soprano/Alto - A stunning vixen performer and enticing temptress of the burlesque club.
Kati, Soldier #2 (20’s) Soprano (Partial nudity/Lingerie)- A very young, bubbly and adorably sweet girl that is the sweet heart of the burlesque club.
Miranda, Guard Two (20’s-early 30’s) Alto (Partial nudity/Lingerie) - She is the instigator, kink-ster, and wild child of the burlesque club.
