SEEKING

Equity actors for chorus dancer parts in Arvada Center for the Arts' 2023-24 Season (See breakdown).

THIS ECC WILL BE HELD FOLLOWING PRE-PANDEMIC PROCEDURES. This audition is a step in returning the ECC procedures to a model closer to what was in place prior to the pandemic. For this audition, rather than making a specific appointment, Equity members will sign up online to attend the ECC. On the day of the audition, the Equity monitor will read the list of members who signed up online to attend (in the order they signed up) and will distribute numbers to those present. Members who do not sign up in advance may request a number after everyone on the list has been accommodated. All members who receive a number prior to the start time of the audition will be seen. PREPARATION

Please come prepared to dance and dress in clothes that you are comfortable moving in. Shoes: Jazz, Sneakers. Please also bring your headshot and resume stapled together and trimmed to size.

[THE SHIRELLES / FEMALE ENSEMBLE] (African American Women. 20s-30s) Seeking appealing, attractive, charismatic singer/actor/movers to portray Lucille (Don’s tough as nails secretary), Shirley (A Shirelle who sings lead on “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”), Little Eva (Carole’s babysitter, turned singing sensation of “The Locomotion”), Janelle Woods (A gorgeous singer who sings lead on “One Fine Day”), among others. Must sing & move extremely well. Belt/Mix.

[THE DRIFTERS / MALE ENSEMBLE] (African American Men. 20s-30s) Seeking appealing, attractive, charismatic singer/actor/movers to portray various roles, including The Drifters, who are featured in songs including “On Broadway”, “Up on the Roof” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.” Must be extremely strong singer/movers. Seeking all vocal types. Especially interested in high tenors & baritones with top notes.

[NICK / LOW RIGHTEOUS BROTHER / MALE ENSEMBLE] (Caucasian Man. 20s-30s) MUST BE A LOW BARITONE/BASS. Seeking a strong singer/actor to play Nick (an attractive, friendly guitarist at the Bitter End), half of the Righteous Brothers duo who sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”) & others. Must be an excellent singer with low baritone / bass notes. Role potentially understudies GERRY GOFFIN.

[LOU ADLER / HIGH RIGHTEOUS BROTHER / MALE ENSEMBLE] (Caucasian Man. 20s-30s) Seeking a strong singer/actor to play Lou Adler (the genius music producer), Bobby Hatfield (half of the Righteous Brothers duo who sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”) & others. Must be an excellent singer with strong rock high tenor notes. Role potentially understudies BARRY MANN.

[MARILYN / BETTY FEMALE ENSEMBLE] (Caucasian Woman. 20s-E30s) Seeking a strong singer/actor to portray Marilyn (a gorgeous singer with a great voice), Betty (Carole’s appealing, perky best friend in high school) and others. Must be an extremely strong singer/actor. Belt/mix. Role potentially understudies CYNTHIA WEIL and CARLOE KING

RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA - LORT B

MALE TUMBLERS (FOX & RACCOON): To play characters 20s-30s, including the Fox footman and Raccoon carriage driver. ANY ETHNICITY. 5’10” or smaller. Must be fantastic dancers with strong ballet technique for extensive partnering and lifts. Must tumble well: back handsprings, back tucks, aerials, etc. Strong singers for multiple voice parts. Potential to cover as well.

MALE AND FEMALE ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, ANY ETHNICITY. Must be elegant dancers with solid ballet technique for extensive partnering and lifts. Strong singers who can handle multiple vocal parts. Also seeking principal covers and swings.
