BREAKDOWN

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL

SEEKING:

NOTE: Characters are bright, well-spoken, and driven by their individual passions and worldviews - of which they are entirely certain. These characters belong as much to a Molière comedy as to a Shakespearean world.

KING OF FRANCE: Male presenting. 60s. Any ethnicity. Full of gracious bonhomie, lust for life, remembers the good old days! But, he has a temper that is positively explosive when he feels someone is out of line – particularly Bertram. Kinda Andrew Jackson.

COUNTESS: Female presenting. 50 to 100. Any ethnicity. A grand woman of indeterminate age - a Dame! A cross between Queen Victoria and Norma Desmond.

BERTRAM: Male presenting. 20-30s. Any ethnicity. The proverbial, fair-haired boy, Tom Brady, a born G.O.A.T. who believes he was Born to marry a model. Essentially very decent. And remarkably unimaginative.

HELENA: Female presenting. 20-30s. Any ethnicity. Brilliant, young and bookish. A charming and clever nerd. She is intense and purposeful in desires of the heart - specifically her pursuit of Bertram.

PAROLES: Male, 40s. Any ethnicity. A delightful fraud. He presents himself as a WWI RAF ace but is actually terrified of heights—and anything else that might compromise his well-being. A lovable coward.

LAFEU: Male presenting. 40s. Any ethnicity. Punctilious, precise, and perhaps the inventor of the word chauvinism. He believes everything French is better and speaks in a French accent. But, of course!

LAVATCH: Male presenting. 50s. Any ethnicity. A verbal gymnast. Loves life - a bawdy libertine - to him, sex is fun, not dirty.

DUKE OF FLORENCE / RINALDO: Male presenting. 50s. DUKE: Any Ethnicity. Self-centered. Mussolini. / RINALDO: Any Ethnicity. Endearing older man. Everything is lovely!

WIDOW: Female presenting. 20s. Any ethnicity. Vibrant and elegant. Radiance, charm, and allure. Possesses a powerful stillness.

DIANA: Female, 20s. The It girl. A still confidence, not arrogant. A preternatural calm.

MARIANA: Female presenting. 20s. Any ethnicity. Receptive and open-minded, eager for new perspectives.
