AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
SYNOPSIS:
Wherever famed detective Hercule Poirot goes, murder is never far behind! On his journey home from Istanbul to London on the luxurious Orient Express, an avalanche stops the train and Poirot must interrogate the parade of passengers, solve the murder, and save the reputation of the famous train before the killer strikes again. The ultimate Whodunit!
NOTE regarding dialects: Each role requires a dialect. Actors are encouraged to work on it. But please know that the production will have dialect coaches on staff for the show.
Countess Andrenyi - Female-identifying, mid 20s to mid 30s, any race/ethnicity. The Countess speaks with a Hungarian accent and switches to an American accent later in the play. Well educated, smart, beautiful. She carries herself as noble; she is also a medical doctor. She possesses a warmth that wins people over. She has a steely edge underneath her charm. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to submit.
Helen Hubbard - Female-identifying, mid 40s to mid 50s, any race/ethnicity. Mrs. Hubbard speaks with an American accent. She’s an outspoken and gregarious Midwesterner. She’s loud and speaks her mind. A busy body. She sings and does a little dancing (the Charleston). She transforms later in the play to a more calculating and in-control leader. It is discovered that she is a famous actress, and her Midwesterner persona is just acting. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to submit.
Princess Dragomiroff - Female-identifying, late 50s to late 60s, any race/ethnicity. The Princess speaks with a Russian accent. She is determined, headstrong and authoritative. She is used to getting her way in all matters. She is strongly opinionated. She is royalty and carries herself as such. She is imperial and impatient. NOTE: Actors of color are encouraged to submit.
