Lakewood Cultural Center Presents
Baroque Fanfares & Flourishes
Tickets start at $29 at Lakewood.org/LCCPresents, 303-987-7845 or the Box Office.
The “Fanfares & Flourishes” concert by the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado at the Lakewood Cultural Center will delight both newcomers and seasoned listeners of Baroque music. As a feature of the Lakewood Cultural Center Presents 25th anniversary season, the orchestra will offer two opportunities to enjoy this dazzling performance – Friday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee on Saturday, March 8 at 2 p.m.
The Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado has established itself as a unique and vital presence in Colorado’s performing arts scene by presenting a wide repertoire ranging from familiar Baroque favorites to rare gems. Violinist Cynthia Miller Freivogel collaborates with harpsichordist and Artistic Director Frank Nowell to create lively and engaging performances that draw audiences into a personal experience of the music by leading from within the ensemble.
The Denver Post hails, “No group has done more in the past five years to freshen and energize Denver’s classical-music scene than the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado.”
The concerts at the Lakewood Cultural Center will feature soloists Freivogel and special guest Kathryn James Adduci, Baroque trumpet, in a festive and lighthearted program that includes Handel’s Suite in D for trumpet and strings, Telemann’s fanciful Don Quixote, virtuoso concertos for trumpet and violin, and a newly composed fanfare by Nowell to commemorate the Lakewood Cultural Center’s anniversary.
