The concert will feature masterful performances of timeless classics, showcasing the virtuosity and innovation that these guitar legends brought to the jazz genre. The evening will feature the region's finest players honoring these jazz legends and others. The concert will be curated by Mike Abbott, the CJRO’s extraordinary guitarist and Marion Powers will be featured on vocals.
Pat Metheny, who’s intricate melodies and harmonies made him one of the most influential jazz guitarists of our time, and Wes Montgomery’s groundbreaking techniques as a jazz guitar pioneer are highlighted. Mike Abbott has been a professional guitarist and educator for over 25 years and has performed with such diverse acts as the Rolling Stones Horns, Jeff Hamilton, Randy Brecker, John Clayton, Sammy Davis Jr., and Burt Bacharach. Mike performs regularly with the CJRO and at clubs and concerts throughout Colorado.
