2014 Bobby G Award Nominees Announced; Ceremony Set for 5/29

Denver Center Attractions announces the 2014 nominees for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. The awards ceremony, on May 29 at 7pm at The Buell Theatre, includes performances from the shows nominated for Outstanding Overall Production, a medley featuring the nominees for Outstanding Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading Role and honors outstanding achievements by students and educators made in the areas of performance, design, direction, choreography, technical production and overall production excellence. Tickets for The Bobby G Awards ceremony are $10 and are now on sale at BobbyGAwards.org.
Twenty public and private high schools in the seven Denver metro counties participated. These schools include Arapahoe High School , Arvada West High School, Bear Creek High School, Chaparral High School , Cherry Creek High School, East High School, Evergreen High School, Faith Christian Academy, George Washington High School, Grandview High School, Lakewood High School, Legacy High School, Littleton High School, Mountain Range High School, Overland High School, Pomona High School, St. Mary's Academy, ThunderRidge High School, Valor Christian High School and Westminster High School.
The 2014 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role progress to represent Colorado in The National High School Musical Theater Awards.
Adjudicators made up of professional working theatre artists attended the 20 participating high schools' musical theatre productions. Using the standards set by The Bobby G Awards training and criteria, as well as their own professional experience, these adjudicators complete extensive evaluation forms offering detailed feedback on all of the various elements involved with staging a musical production. Participating schools receive a copy of the forms complete with each adjudicator's comments, praise, and constructive criticism designed to motivate growth and recognize success. These evaluations serve as a foundation for the nominations.
