The Dayton Playhouse announces their 2009 - 2010 season.
The Main Stage season is as follows:
Cabaret - by Joe Masteroff, Fred Ebb and John Kander. It is directed by Chris Harmon. The show will run from August 28-September 13, 2009.
Miracle Worker - by William Gibson. It is directed by Jennifer Lockwood. The show will run from October 9-18, 2009.Corpthem Christi - by Terrence McNally. It is directed by Michael Boyd. The show will run from November 13-22, 2009.Urinetown - by John Rando, Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis. It is directed by Doug Lloyd. The show will run from February 5-21, 2010.Steel Magnolias - by Robert Harling. It is directed by Craig Smith. The show will run from March 19-28, 2010.Gypsy - by Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne, and Stephen Sondheim. It is directed by BrIan Sharp. The show will run from May 7-23, 2010.Season Extra:
A Christmas Carol by Charles Ludlam. The show will run from December 18-20, 2009.All productions are produced in agreement with Samuel French, MTI Productions, Tams-Witmark, and Dramatists Play Services. This season they have made quite a few improvements to their schedule and pricing. Their popular FlipSide series has been such a success that they’ve incorporated it directly into their MainStage series. This allows them to bring you ftheir general audience shows and two avant-garde shows within the format of their regular season. All shows will be full productions. Musicals will be on stage for three consecutive weekends, while plays will be on stage for two consecutive weekends.Their shows this year they were selected by their newly created Artistic Committee. This committee invited directors that have proven themselves in past Dayton Playhouse productions to submit to them shows for consideration. The committee recommended them and selected their season from among their recommendations. Going forward, the committee will be involved in producing their season. It’s the committees mission to improve upon the standard of excellence Dayton Playhouse has provided their patrons in their first fifty years.Are you an avid theatergoer?
