In continuing my goal to have one new experience every day, I decided to get tickets to Théâtre du Lido 2's production of "Hello Dolly!".  It was such a blast of a night and it was so much fun to see a musical performed in Paris!

The theatre is located on the Champs-Elysées which is a huge tourist attraction in Paris.  It has a mix of high-end and regular stores which makes it a very fun place to walk around.  I decided to go a little early to the show to do just that.  I arrived about an hour early and walked a while before deciding to get a macaroon at Ladurée, a famous patisserie that specializes in macaroons.  I then sat on a bench facing the Arc-de-Triomphe and people watched for an hour.  Most people were there to get their nighttime pics of the beautiful monument but some were just hanging out like I was.  Although I was conquering the night alone, I did not mind it at all.  Being in such a busy area made it less lonely and plus, I have learned some experiences I really value doing on my own.

About 30 minutes before the show started I headed over.  It's a beautiful theatre with a massive entry way.  For about 100 feet you walk through a fun passageway where they blast the music from the show and display large images of the banner.  It felt like the party was already starting!  I ended up talking to a few people around me (I tried the best I could to speak in french but that could only get me so far).  I always love hearing how people ended up at the show such as for tourist reasons, an actress, etc.  The theatre was beautiful and I just tried to take in the whole experience as much as possible.

The show ended around 10:30 pm and I simply Ubered home.  Very easy!  I decided that going to shows is a great way to have such diverse experiences and I will for sure be scouting out more this semester!
