Local artist Everett Ward of the Carnegie Arts Center has received honorable mention in the “Hand-Pulled Prints XIV” juried exhibition in San Antonio, Texas. The exhibition is to be held at the StoneMetal Press Printing Center in Texas from May 1 through May 31, 2009. The piece entered and accepted is titled “Light and Shadow #2”. Mr. Ward creates detailed realistic images in Lithography. The process is time intensive and requires mastered skills in lithography techniques. He has taught and worked at the Carnegie Arts Center for many years and has received several such recognitions through the years.
The 40th Annual Smokey Hill Art Exhibit in Hays, Kansas has also invited Everett to show “Light and Shadow #2. The exhibit will be on display from April 24th till June 5, 2009. Opening reception is Friday April 24th. The Carnegie Arts Center wishes to congratulate Everett for his many successes.The Carnegie Arts Center is a private non-profit fine arts organization and a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts. Some programs are supported in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment of the Arts, a federal agency, and the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Dept. Anyone is eligible to participate or become a member of the Carnegie regardless of age and ability. Scholarships are available.
