In honor of Thanksgiving, here is what I'm thankful for.
Stress is constant when you're in college. Between all the different tasks you have to complete, it feels like there's never enough hours in the day, which has felt very true for me recently. It’s been a very hectic week with lots of exams and assignments, but even in stressful times, it’s important to practice gratitude. In honor of Thanksgiving, I figured it would be appropriate to write about what I’m thankful for.
First, I am thankful for my access to education. Not everybody is able to attend college, so it’s important for me to acknowledge that I am very lucky to be studying at a great university. College has given me many great opportunities to become a better person, which I am very grateful for.
Second, I am thankful for my support system. Between my family, friends, and my boyfriend, I have a lot of great people in my life. They support me in all my endeavors and I know I can always go to them when I’m feeling down. I’ve made countless memories with them that I’ll cherish forever, and I truly feel that they make me a better person.
Third, I am thankful for live entertainment. Living so close to New York City, I’ve seen Broadway and touring shows many times, and I never get tired of it. It’s truly magical to be in the city and witness the spectacle that is a Broadway show. Even when I can’t make it to the city, seeing a local or touring production also fills me with so much excitement. Musical theater is a big part of my personality, and I simply can't imagine my life without it.
Despite the stress of life, it's important to always practice gratitude. It makes me feel grounded and reminds me to be humble, and hopefully, it can help you too. It can help you feel more positive and ultimately more content and happy. Give it a try!
