The last time I went to any of the Disney parks was around 8 or 9 years old, so it has been a little bit! Going to school in Los Angeles, I made it a goal of mine to go to Disneyland before I graduated. This past weekend, I finally made it and found there is truly no better time to go than during the holiday season.

We conquered both California Adventure and Disneyland in one day which I found to be very sufficient.  We conquered as many roller coasters and rides that we could (the park-hopper pass helped because we could reserve rides in advance so we skipped some lines). My favorite was "It's a Small World" because of the nostalgia but also because they made it incredibly festive and specific to each culture represented. They even incorporated "Jingle Bells" into the song to make it more holiday-relevant.

The best part, though, of walking through the park was finding it felt a lot like one big interactive theatrical production. Everywhere you turn there is a new character interacting with people or a parade rounding the corner. You can see how working in the world of Disney would not only be an adequate opportunity, but it also allows for every actor to use their range of abilities in different ways. In one of the parades, there were dancers costumed like snowflakes on rollerblades. In another, there was a woman standing in a convertible who sang holiday songs with a live band accompanying her.  It was incredible to consider that every one of those people contribute to the magic of Disney solely by utilizing the artistic skills they have.

The whole day was one of pure bliss and nostalgia. I remembered bits and pieces from when I was younger, but there was something wonderful abut seeing it with older, more mature eyes. Despite my growth, I still found it to be a wonderful and exciting place perfect for every theatre-loving person!
