Seeking director for a staged reading - Hunter Arrogant Entertainment

Hunter Arrogant Entertainment is currently accepting applications from directors of all ethnicities and gender identities for an upcoming staged reading of a new Gothic fantasy musical by a Grammy-winning composer, to be presented in Providence in early fall 2020. This piece has previously been performed to great success in Europe, but is undergoing new development in a revised English version.

As this is a reading, salary is negotiable. Responsibilities include working with designated staff on hiring, supervising, and evaluating artistic personnel, auditions and casting, scheduling and leading rehearsals, blocking the show's movements, and monitoring the production's pacing. (The responsibilities and duties listed are illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them for the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)

* A proven ability to maintain high artistic standards

* A strong passion for -- and knowledge/understanding of -- musical theater

* Ability to multitask and prioritize as new situations and initiatives arise on short notice

* Collaborative, competent, cooperative, diligent, enthusiastic, highly organized, strong, and team-oriented

* Excellent people and communication skills

* Grounded, but willing to try new things

* Prior directing or assisting experience (at least 2 years preferred, especially with mostly sung-through musicals)
