The CCM Sesquicentennial pairs two of Puccini’s most popular operas for one can’t-miss Mainstage Series production! CCM’s stars of tomorrow present the moving Suor Angelica and the farcical Gianni Schicchi as a double-bill highlighting Puccini's mastery of emotional storytelling. The operas tell two contrasting cautionary tales about greed and moral hypocrisy. Suor Angelica's tragic story focuses on a young nun who is serving penance for conceiving an illegitimate child. Gianni Schicchi is a comedic opera about a family who tries to alter a large inheritance to their favor.
