On Sunday, June 1st, the entire community is invited to join in celebrating Jay and Nancy Krevsky, distinguished actors, philanthropists and arts advocates and The Hall Foundation, long-time supporter of the arts and culture in the capital region as this year's honored recipients of the 2014 Arts Awards.

Sponsored by Theatre Harrisburg, Arts Awards is the Capital Region's most prestigious annual recognition of one outstanding individual or couple and one organization for distinguished service to the arts. Inspired by the Kennedy Center Awards, Arts Awards has been a much-anticipated local tradition since 1989 and is dotted with historic narrative, thoughtful tributes, dazzling live entertainment and even a few surprises.

"A committee of past honorees made the selections, and we couldn't be more thrilled with their choices," comments Samuel Kuba, executive director of Theatre Harrisburg.

"We're planning an extremely elegant evening, replete with music, entertainment, and exquisite cuisine by The JDK Group. Held completely at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, the event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-ceremony gala, then proceeds into the Sunoco Performance Theatre for the presentation of the Awards and accolades and performance tributes. A dessert celebration follows, providing a tasty conclusion to the night. We urge the entire community to join us in saluting the 2014 winners of this coveted award. It is not an overstatement to say our arts community would not be what it is were it not for their extraordinary contributions."

To receive an invitation or for further details, contact Theatre Harrisburg at (717) 232-5501. This program is funded, in part, by the Cultural Enrichment Fund, the capital region's united arts fund. Theatre Harrisburg is the Resident Theatre Company of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.
