Aldo Perez's The Renaldo The Ensemble will perform on Saturday, October 11, 11pm at the Living Room in New York. The Renaldo The Ensemble is a band fronted by New York City-based impresario Aldo Perez. The group touches on opera, rock, Latin jazz, tango and hip-hop. Perez has composed for theater and film, and has written three Off-Broadway pieces: 69 The Musical, The Curse of the Mystic Renaldo The (at 3LD) and American Hallucinations. Perez has also held the 11pm, Saturday night slot at the Living Room for over 8 years, treating the audiences to his group's compelling, hilarious and notoriously wacky, slapstick live performances.

One never knows what to expect from The Renaldo The Ensemble, whether it's flutes being played through the nose, singing with razors, opera and cigarettes, or talking paintings. This Kurt Weill-esque, art-rock troupe has been called "wonderfully weird" by Backstage and "marvelously odd" by TimeOut New York.

Steven McElroy from the New York Times says of Perez, "Renaldo's free-associative monologues and a series of hallucinatory vignettes mix with rock music interludes, courtesy of Mr. Perez and members of his band."
