Annie Ross – January 3, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $25.
Annie Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. The following are some highlights of what has been a long and illustrious career in jazz: Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", quot;Jackie" and many others.
Marilyn Maye – January 4th, 5th, and 6th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30.
An Evening With Marilyn Maye, Award Winner Marilyn Maye returns for a three night run at The Metropolitan Room.
Jessica Kirson’s New Talent Showcase – January 6th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 27th at 9:30PM. Tickets are $12.
Howard Fishman & Etienne Charles – January 7th at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $15. January 8th at 9:30 PM.
Acclaimed singer, guitarist, composer and bandleader Howard Fishman's exuberant, spontaneous, and unvarnished music has made him a favorite of audiences and critics alike. Ever-evolving and impossible to pin down, Fishman filters a deep passion for New Orleans jazz, Brooklyn soul, open-hearted country, blues and gospel music through a completely original, experimental aesthetic, to create a sound entirely his own.
Tom Vaughn – Trail of Cheers- January 9th at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $25.
Tom Vaughn makes his solo debut at the Metropolitan Room in Trail of Cheers, after first appearing in historic cabaret venues and club scenes such as The Five Oaks, Limelight, and, Bard’O. The evening features arrangements of standards and Broadway classics, folk -pop ballads and Tom’s original music. Joining Tom is special guest, B’way actress and MAC and Bistro Award winner, Raissa Katona Bennett. Musical Direction is by Pianist Jeff Cubeta, associated with the critically acclaimed Cast of Thousands, The Songs of Crag Carnelia. The band also features Guitarist Sean Harkness who garnered both the Outstanding Instrumentalist of 2011 Backstage Bistro Award, and a MAC Award for his NY solo shows, David Lizmi on Bass and Mary Rodriquez on Drums. Tom most recently portrayed the roles of “Sister Hubert” in NUNSENSE AMEN and “Miles Gloriosus” in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, produced by Fire Island Pines Arts Project. Additional regional credits include, Kiss me Kate, Rigoletto, and On the 20th Century. Tom’s background vocals can also be heard on the Lucie Arnaz CD “Latin Roots” musically produced by Ron Abel and Lucie Arnaz.
Jay Rogers & Keith Thompson – Back From The Abyss January 9th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Long time friends and funny men Jay Rogers and Keith Thompson reunite for a one night only, all stops out, no holds barred, evening of fun including new, never before heard original songs along with some of their favorite classic comic and musical collaborations.
Keith Thompson is currently the Conductor for the Las Vegas production of Jersey Boys. He conducted for the first national tour of Mamma Mia!, and wasthe musical director and winner of the 2000 Dora award for the first national tour of Cabaret. Keith is the composer/lyricist of Kooky Tunes, a revue of original comedy/novelty songs. Keith composed the Off-Broadway revueWhite Lies withPlaywright and Douglas Carter Beane, as well as God Lives in Glass based on the book by the same title with author, Robert J. Landy. Keith is excited to be in development with the hit Comedy-Musical, "Idaho!"
Amanda King – January 9th at 9:30 PM and January 11th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Starting the new year with songs from the golden age of melody and swing, San Francisco based chanteuse Amanda King brings to the stage her critically acclaimed show "The Swing of Things" - music of Ellington, Strayhorn, Gershwin, Porter and other favorites of the American Songbook.
Joel Ginn – January 12th, 14th, 26th, and 28th at 7:00PM. Tickets are $20.
Joel Ginn returns to the Metropolitan Room on Thursday, January 12 and 26, and Saturday, January 14 and 28, 2012, with a new show, Singing Bing, based on songs introduced and covered by legendary singer and performer, Bing Crosby. Bing’s crooning technique had a great impact on the music industry for most of the 20th Century, and his style will continue to influence singers and songwriters for centuries to come.
Singing Bing is directed by Lina Koutrakos, with musical direction by Jeff Cubeta, and features Matt Wigton on bass.
Oleg Frisch - 12th and 22nd at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $20.
Due to popular demand oleg Frish will appear again! Oleg is a unique personality. He is a well known TV and Radio Host, an entertainer and a walking encyclopedia of music. He swings in many languages but his his greatest passions are The Great American Songbook and the Russian Retro Music. Oleg happily sings both of them and welcomes at his shows at the Metropolitan Room in January. Oleg is the only Russian who proudly promotes American music on Russian Radio, TV and on stage. His TV shows included many legendary singers such as B.B. King, Connie Francis, Paul Anka, James Brown, Andy Williams, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, Shirley Jones, Jerry Herman, Engelbert, and many more.
Oleg knows thousands of songs and is often referred to as the Human Jukebox. This is also part of his show. He will perform with the Isaac Ben Ayala Jazz Quartet. The show is very positive, swinging and humorous!
Fred Barton Presents – And Thinks Your Gonna Love It! January 15th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Fred Barton hosts, sings and plays once a month with his 9-piece Broadway Band, bringing back classic Broadway show music with some swing on the side. Fred's guest singers onJan. 15 are the incomparable KLea Blackhurst and dashing Damon Kirsche, with special appearances by KAREN WILDER and JESSE LUTTRELL.
Fred Barton is an arranger, performer and song writer with numerous credits on Broadway, TV, and the symphony circuit. Previous cabaret/revue credits include "Miss Culch Returns!" (Bistro Award), "Forbidden Broadway" (Drama Desk, Tony Award, 27-year run), and "Whoop-Dee-Doo!" (Drama Desk Award).
Liz Wagener – January 17th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Liz Wagener will be appearing at New York City's Metropolitan Room on Tuesday, January 17, at 7:00pm. Ms. Wagener will be performing songs from her newly released album, "The One You Choose" as well as other favorites from her extensive repertoire. Frequently compared to Dinah Shore, Julie London and Dianne Reeves, Liz entrances audiences with her emblematic tone while delivering tasteful explorations of her incredible range.
A native of Northwestern Ohio, Liz began singing on stage at the age of three. She later auditioned for and became a member of the Young Rep Roadshow for nine years, starring in hundreds of performances throughout the Midwest. Since that time, she has appeared in over twenty-five musicals and expanded into the folk, rock and jazz genres.
Greg Negbaur – January 19th and 20th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Diggin’ The Beatles: A Piano man’s Soulful Journey Through The Beatles Songbook
Acclaimed pianist/singer/songwriter Gary Negbaur interprets the Beatles Songbook with the same respect, exuberance, and creative innovation as a jazzman exploring a standard. Expect an intermingling of the familiar and the surprising as this smooth singing master of the 88s travels through the songs of the greatest rock band of all time. He will be performing as a soloist one night and with a quartet the next at the legendary Metropolitan Room.
Pianist/singer/songwriter Gary Negbaur has toured across the U.S., Europe and Australia wowing audiences with his heartfelt and often humorous originals along with his innovative arrangements of standards. His recordings include a CD of original music (Let me explain) as well as a critically acclaimed solo album of standards (Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat) and a children’s CD (Max’s Family Band). Reviewers have described him as "a witty songwriter" (The Austin Chronicle) and compared him to Randy Newman, Lyle Lovett and Mose Allison.
Corinna Sowers Adler – January 21st at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $15.
Music has a powerful way of taking us back to places, people, and events long remembered. "By Request" is a show created by fans and friends of Corinna Sowers-Adler who have shared the stories and memories behind songs they have requested to be sung by Corinna.

Pamela Luss and Houston Person – January 21st at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Pamela Luss with Houston Person will perform, Just The Two of Us and Friends, a monthly series. Shows will vary each month. The monthly Saturday series will commence with the first show on January, 21, 2012, titled, All About Love.
Broadway on 22nd Street – January 23rd at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
The Hit monthly series that brings you some of the most talented performers from the Great White Way continues in 2012. Created By Bistro and MAC award winning producer Broadway on 22nd Street has become one of the most talked about cabaret series. Each month three performers from Broadway head down to The Metropolitan Room. Each performer sings a 4 song set and then might team up with someone for a duet or even group number. January’s edition features Joi Danielle Price (Ragtime Revival), Heather Parcells ( Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Chorus Line Revival, and Wonderland.), possibly also performing but not yet confirmed is Charles West. Award Winner Tracy Stark musical directs.
Ann Osmond & Dennis Yerry – January 25th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Optimistic Voices -Jazz cabaret duo Ann Osmond & Dennis Yerry sing songs that celebrate the indomitable human spirit as it searches for love and meaning along the bumpy road of life. From Gershwin to Sondheim to Jobim to Stevie Wonder, their eclectic program includes music spanning many decades and styles.
Ann Osmondis a singer and actor with roots in the theatre and Dennis Yerry is an accomplished jazz pianist and composer. Their unique arrangements and rich harmonies have a fresh energy and an air of timeless elegance.
Ann Osmond originated the role of Carlyle in “The Stonewater Rapture”, by Pulitzer and Tony award-winning playwright Doug Wright, which earned a Fringe First award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Other favorites include the title role in “Tamara” (Los Angeles production), Jessica in “Lust and Pity” at the West Bank Café, and the musical “Strider” at TheatreWorks, Palo Alto. Recent film credits include the role of “Cindy” in “Peace, Love and Misunderstanding” (dir.Bruce Beresford, starring Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener), to be released in 2012. Dennis Yerry composed and musical directed the theatrical production of “Black Elk Speaks” in Denver, CO and L.A., in which he also performed.
