THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present Academy Award nominee Chris Sarandon and Tony-nominated actor and comedian Mario Cantone in a one-night-only live recording podcast episode of "Cooking By Heart" on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 PM. "Cooking By Heart" features discussions with well-known actors, directors, authors, politicians, business figures, and comedians that center on memories of the meals or favorite foods we all grew up with. From the exotic to the mundane, dishes that still tickle or tantalize us as adults, they discuss the stories and people that accompany those memories. The guests' favorite recipes are posted on the show's website. Previous guests include Carol Kane, Hal Linden, Michael Patrick King, and Cary Elwes.

Chris Sarandon

is best known for his roles as Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride, the speaking voice of Jack Skellington in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, the cunning vampire in Fright Night, and his Academy Award-nominated role in Dog Day Afternoon. He grew up working in his Greek immigrant father's restaurant in West Virginia. Both of his Greek grandfathers owned diners and coffee shops, and his son is a trained chef, the family business. Sarandon was initially taught to cook by his mother and various cooks in his father's restaurant. He combines his love of food with an actor's keen ear for human stories. Sarandon appeared on Broadway as Jacob Rothschild in the original musical The Rothschilds; replaced Raul Julia in the hit musical romp Two Gentlemen of Verona; and appeared with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner as the Comte de Guiche in the acclaimed production of Cyrano de Bergerac. His Off-Broadway appearances include Dave Malloy's Preludes at Lincoln Center Theater; Through a Glass Darkly at New York Theater Workshop; and John Guare's Marco Polo Sings a Solo at The Public Theater. Other classic film roles include Lipstick, Sam Peckinpah's last movie The Osterman Weekend, and Protocol, with Goldie Hawn. More recently he has appeared in I Smile Back with Sarah Silverman, and in Adriana Trigiani's Big Stone Gap. On television, he has appeared in recurring roles on "ER," "The Practice," "Felicity," and "Judging Amy." He is married to the incomparable Joanna Gleason, with whom he starred in the well-remembered but ill-fated Broadway musical Nick and Nora.

Mario Cantone

is the celebrated New York stage actor and comedian who gained critical acclaim with his Tony-nominated one-man show, Laugh Whore, which began at the Cort Theatre on Broadway and was developed into a special on Showtime. Other memorable starring roles on Broadway include the Tony Award-winning Assassins by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, and Terrence McNally's Love! Valor! Compassion! Cantone starred in Sony's film Surf's Up, and appeared in The Aristocrats. On television, Cantone is best known as "Anthony Marentino" on HBO's "Sex and the City," which spawned the movie franchise and the reboot "And Just Like That." Mario also recurred on the FX show "Better Things." Cantone has performed his irreverent comedy at venues including Carnegie Hall, Atlantic City's Borgata, The Comedy Cellar, and most recently became the only stand-up comedian to play the legendary Café Carlyle. Other television appearances include "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Wendy Williams Show," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and multiple appearances on ABC's "The View."

Chris Sarandon will host "Cooking By Heart" with special guest Mario Cantone on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 PM at The Green Room 42 (570 Tenth Avenue at 42nd Street, on the 4th Floor of Yotel). The cover charge ranges from $20-$40. A livestream option is available for all shows at $20 each. For tickets, please visit www.TheGreenRoom42.com.

May 9 to May 30 - Tuesdays at 7:00 PM

Lady Bunny

"Don't Bring the Kids"

*Livestream Available*

Drag royalty Lady Bunny will present an hour of jokes and demented song parodies. The internationally known drag icon, comedian, recording artist and jet-set DJ is as famous for her big-banged bouffant and her notoriously naughty wit as for her ability to get a dancefloor jumping. A Manhattan gal since the early 80s, Lady Bunny shares Atlanta roots with fellow drag star and former roommate, RuPaul, and is most famous for co-founding and emceeing Wigstock, the annual New York City Labor Day outdoor drag festival that ran for nearly 20 years. She tours constantly, taking her bawdy brand of humor to audiences from Cincinnati to Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, London, Marrakesh and Sydney. Bunny has been lucky enough to share the stage or screen with many of her idols including Patti LaBelle, Joan Rivers, Bea Arthur, Charo, Lynda Carter, and Christina Aguilera at Radio City Music Hall. One-woman show titles like "That Ain't No Lady!," "Trans-Jester," "Pig in a Wig," and most recently, "Cuntageous," offer a hint as to what to expect. From riotously risqué to vividly vulgar, Bunny gleefully delivers full-strength, downright dirty, gobsmackingly un-P.C. adult humor. Lady Bunny can be seen in films and television, most recently in Wig, the HBO Wigstock documentary made with Neil Patrick Harris, and the feature film Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate. She was the "Dean of Drag" on three seasons of "RuPaul's Drag U," has been roasted by Joan Rivers, roasted Pam on "The Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson," and emceed the LGBT prom in one of the most popular episodes of "Sex and the City.

She made her Broadway debut at age 12 and spent her formative years entertaining packed audiences instead of going to the junior prom. Through stories and songs, Ferland explores the conundrum of perception versus reality, and reveals what it's like to always be singing for your supper. From backstage with Sondheim, to family drama, to farm animals, join Ferland for a jaunt of self-discovery, laughter and of course, music. The show is written by Danielle Ferland and Abby Sher, directed by Darren Katz, and features musical direction by Brian Nash.
