New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJ PAC) will present Norm Lewis on Saturday, May 3rd as part of the center's American Song Series. Lewis is currently one of the hottest actor-vocalists on the entertainment scene. He has been nominated for both a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his recent role as Porgy in Broadway's Porgy and Bess.
Most recently, Lewis assumed the role of the Phantom in Broadway's Phantom of the Opera. Lewis is the first African-American to play this lead role on the Great White Way. And, he is currently starring in ABC's hit television series Scandal.
Norm Lewis' performance career has encompassed a wide variety of venues and he has appeared for audiences around the world. In the intimate setting of NJ PAC's Chase Room, Lewis will lend his rich baritone to an eclectic variety of Broadway songs and popular American tunes to captivate his audience. He will be appearing for two performances, one at 6:00 pm and another at 8:30 pm.
