Coast Guard Florida small logo

The Weather Channel's exciting new, original series Coast Guard Florida follows the men and women who patrol the 7th Coast District of Florida: a vast expanse of sea and land that encompasses an area of responsibility (AOR) stretching from Clearwater to Miami/Everglades to the Florida Keys.

This tropical paradise is also a hotbed for illegal activity and the Coast Guard is empowered as the first line of defense for the Sunshine State.

Follow the drama and danger of their missions, which include:

Stemming the flow of illegal narcotics - they embargoed $957 million in illegal narcotics in 2011. Saving those in peril on the sea - they saved 889 lives in 2011. Securing the southeast border - they rescued 5,707 undocumented migrants in 2011. Enforcing maritime laws and treaties - they inspect a fleet of 2,000 commercial vessels and 2 million recreational boats.
