In an unprecedented move, Bill Maher will travel to Washington, D.C. for two live shows, presented back-to-back without a break on FRIDAY, SEPT. 12.
First, he'll host a new edition of REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER, to be seen at a special time (9:00-10:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT) from Sidney Harman Hall. The current season of REAL TIME features a segment entitled "Flip a District," which invites viewers to nominate their current elected representative to be voted out of office. The public is also encouraged to submit nominations on social media using the hashtag #FlipADistrict. In the live show, Maher will reveal which member of Congress he intends to flip.
Then, immediately following the conclusion of REAL TIME, Maher proceeds to the Warner Theatre, where another audience is waiting for him. He'll perform a stand-up comedy special (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), marking his tenth solo special for the network since his HBO debut in 1989.
Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio guests. The executive producers of the show are Bill Maher, Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Marc Gurvitz, Brad Grey and Billy Martin; co-executive producer Dean E. Johnsen; produced by Matt Wood; director, Paul Casey.
