A new sitcom starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo might be headed to ABC in the near future.

According to PerezHilton.com, this sitcom (previously mentioned on BWW) now has a script commitment from ABC network and ABC Studios for such a show with the National Lampoon's Vacation stars attached. With a script by Brad Copeland, the show is from producer Aaron Kaplan. The unnamed work centers around Chase and D'Angelo as a married couple who suddenly have the task of raising their grandchildren by themselves.

Chevy Chase's last television appearance was in Community, while Beverly D'Angelo's last big television role was in Entourage.

Beverly D'Angelo is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as Ellen Griswold in the National Lampoon's Vacation franchise. D'Angelo received critical acclaim for her performances as Patsy Cline in Coal Miner's Daughter (1980), and as Doris Vinyard in American History X (1998). She has also performed in Broadway theatre, starred in a number of television films, and had roles in over 50 movies.

Chevy Chase is an American comedian, Golden Globe Award-nominated film and television actor, and Emmy Award-winning writer. He began acting with National Lampoon. He quickly became a key cast member in the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live, where his Weekend Update skit soon became a staple of the show.

Chase is well known for his portrayal of the character Clark Griswold in four National Lampoon's Vacation films, and for his roles in comedies including Foul Play (1978), Caddyshack (1980), Seems Like Old Times (1980), Fletch (1985), Spies Like Us (1985), and ¡Three Amigos! (1986). He has hosted THE ACADEMY AWARDS twice (1987 and 1988) and briefly had his own late-night talk show, The Chevy Chase Show. In 2009, he became a regular cast member (Pierce Hawthorne) on the NBC comedy series Community. Chase left the show in 2012, having already filmed most of the episodes in Season 4.
