Michael Cyril Creighton's award winning online sitcom "JACK IN A BOX", currently in its third season, turns 20. The series' 20th episode welcomes a trio of Broadway stars: Alison Fraser, Julie Halston and Mary Testa. The episode also features downtown favorites Becca Blackwell and Paul Thureen. The episode is co-directed and co-produced with Jim Turner.
In the episode, titled "The Surprise", Jack (Creighton) is ambushed at work when his mother (Testa), aunt (Fraser) and their friend Dawn (Halston) visit. Over a nice cup of coffee they try to bond over The Real Housewives, Adele's hand gestures and Yankee Candles. He was a founding member of the NY Neo-Fururists and is a frequent guest artist with The Debate Society. Alison Fraser (Aunt Heidi) created the role of Sister Walburga in Charles Busch's Off Broadway hit The Divine Sister, and soon will be seen as Arsinoë in the world premiere of David Ives's The School for Wives directed by Walter Bobbie at Classic Stage Company. In June she will join the company of Love, Loss and What I Wore. She is a two time Tony Award nominee for playing Martha in The Secret Garden and Josefine in Romance/Romance. Julie Halston (Dawn) is currently starring in Charles Busch's smash hit play The Divine Sister, TV viewers know her as Bitsy Von Muffling from "Sex and The City" and Tina Carmello from "The Class". She has been seen in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway shows including: Hairspray, Gypsy, Love Loss and What I Wore , The Twentieth Century. Her one woman show has been extended at Birdland four times. Mary Testa (Mother) is currently starring in George Street Playhouse's production of Fox on the Fairway. She has been seen on Broadway in Xanadu, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Barnum, Marilyn, The Rink, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, On the Town, Marie Christine and 42nd Street, earning Tony nominations for her work in On the Town and 42nd Street. Becca Blackwell (Kris) is currently collaborating with Mike DeAngelis in their new work You Dropped This: And other Maverick Tales and will be seen in Young Jean Lee's new piece this fall. Paul Thureen (Drew) is a founding member and co-Artistic Director of The Debate Society, co-writing and starring in A Thought About Raya, The Snow Hen, You're Welcome, The Eaten Heart, Cape Disappointment, Detroit and Buddy Cop 2. He is currently at The Sundance Theatre Institute developing "Untitled World's Fair Play". Co-Director/Producer Jim Turner also shoots and edits the web series' "The Good Neighbor Minute" and has directed videos for Ninja Sex Party and Adira Amram.Videos
