Internationally regarded rock band Green Day has contributed some massive, thrashing tunes to the annals of Broadway byway of their rock opera AMERICAN IDIOT and the punk collective sang some of those famous songs as well as many from their upcoming three-part !UNO!DOS!TRE! at a live gig this weekend.
Germany's Rock am Ring festival was the justification for recently rehab-released frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to join bandmates for a spirited live set of familiar and fresh songs.
Among the AMERICAN IDIOT material included in the concert highlights now available to view in full are "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" and "St. Jimmy".
Beginning with the unforgettable theme from THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY, Armstrong and company provided more than a merely solid set over the course of their reportedly nearly two-hour performance as they launched into many of their most memorable hits and previewed what we can expect from their forthcoming stage venture, now out in three concept albums titled !UNO!, !DOS! and !TRE!
For more information about Armstrong's recent battles with addiction and how that has had an effect on the band itself check out my recent BWW article on the matter here.
