Cristina Fontanelli to Make Metropolitan Room Debut, 9/20

Following sold-out performances at Feinstein's, singer CRISTINA FONTANELLI will make her Metropolitan Room debut on Friday, September 20 at 9pm, with her highly acclaimed show With A Song in My Heart. Hosted by PBS (WNET Thirteen/WLIW 21), NJTV, CPTV, ABC WTNH-TV & "Close-Up TV" news personality, Jim Masters, Cristina will be accompanied by Dennis Buck on piano, Ray Kilday on bass & Ray Grappone on drums.

CRISTINA FONTANELLI's beautiful soprano voice has taken her from the White House as part of President Clinton's holiday celebration to the Stars & Stripes Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush to Gracie Mansion at the invitation of Mayor Rudy Giuliani. She has performed with the Cairo Opera, Opera of Hong Kong, the NY Grand Opera, NJ State Opera & as a guest artist with the Boston Pops & the St. Louis Symphony, as well as major concert halls both internationally (Japan, Korea, Italy, Canada, Puerto Rico) & nationally, including Lincoln Center in NYC & The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She has completed three world-tours with the Mantovani Orchestra & toured the Middle East extensively as an "Ambassador of Opera," her repertoire including such heroines as Mimi, Musetta, Violetta & the title role (s) of Madame Butterfly & Tosca & sings in 8 languages.

Cristina sang the National Anthem on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., at the historic Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach honoring Connie Francis, at the National Arts Club in NYC, the PBS Gala at Times Square Discover, has worked with Tony Bennett & Joel Grey & sang "Happy Birthday" to Mickey Rooney for his 90th birthday celebration at Feinstein's (Donald Trump, Regis Philbin, Tony Bennett, et al in attendance).

Cristina has served as PBS Host for Andrea Bocelli's historic concert in Central Park, which also starred Celine Dion, David Foster & Tony Bennett & for Il Volo's Spring 2012 special. She is the voice of "Nonna" on beloved PBS-TV Chef Lidia Bastianich's Christmas special (over 300 PBS outlets across the US) & has appeared on "CBS Weekend" in interview/performance/co-hosting roles for the past 2 years

One of her favorite annual appearances is at Jimmy Kimmel's Feast of San Gennaro in Hollywood, CA & at her Annual Christmas in Italy concert this year, her 10th Annual concert, will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 3pm at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in downtown Manhattan. Her 3rd Annual Christmas in Italy concert in San Diego will be on December 13, 2013 at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, in La Jolla.
